To me entertainment is something that can either distract, amuse or please somebody. Entertainment is mainly known as something such as a concert or a movie. Things or events people go to see and enjoy in their free time. But it could also be something like texting on your phone, it is getting your attention. Entertainment is mainly used to pass time, but it is also enjoyed by the person. There are three main assumptions made about entertainment: 1. Just for fun 2. Reflection of culture 3. Personal Choice.
There is a difference between entertainment and entertaining, however.
Entertainment: the thing that is distracting the person or watching.
VS.
Entertaining: whether it is fun, pleasing or not.
